Fortnite skins August 2021: all the skins coming to Fortnite and how to get them

Fortnite just won't stop with its brilliant collaborations and keeps giving players plenty of options for new cosmetics. We know it's hard to keep up, so we're here to explain all the Fortnite skins you’ll be getting your hands on in August 2021.

Fortnite Season 7 is here and it looks set to be quite different from what we're used to. Expect to see this page updated with Fortnite skins based on aliens and other strange creatures. We imagine that the pop culture collaborations won't stop soon either.

We’ve rounded up every Fortnite skin we expect to land in the battle royale in August 2021, including both skins confirmed by Epic Games and those which are rumored – but don’t worry, we’ve clearly signposted which are which. So, read on for all the Fortnite skins we expect in the near future so you look fashionable while racking up the eliminations.

Officially unveiled Fortnite skins

Galaxy Grappler – Galaxy Cup 2.0

On August 29 you'll be able to take part in the Android Galaxy Cup 2.0 for a chance to unlock brand new cosmetics before any other player. Like the previous cup, it will be open to all Android players who have 2FA enabled on their Epic account.

This will be a solo competition using the Arsenal LTM. Like a battle royale crossed with Gun Game from Call of Duty players must rack up eliminations with weapons that become weaker as they progress further. The first player to cycle through every gun is the winner.

The Galaxy Grappler Fortnite skin will also be available in the Item Shop at a later date.

J Balvin – Icon Series

Yet another musician will get a Fortnite skin in their honor, J Balvin. Epic has been teasing the collab by sharing multiple images on the Fortnite Twitter account.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like J Balvin will be hosting his own Ariana Grande-style concert but he will be dropping into the Item Shop from August 26 and will get a dedicated creative map in his honor (with a racetrack that looks awfully like Rainbow Road from Mario Kart)

Wonder Woman – DC Superhero

Yet another DC hero has been granted a Fortnite skin, this time it's Wonder Woman. We're surprised it has taken her this long to make an appearance, but finally, the Amazonian warrior has entered the battle.

Unfortunately, her bracers seem to have lost their defensive properties (so they won't be keeping you safe) but if that doesn't bother you head over to the Item Shop to pick Wonder Woman's skin up for 1,600 V-Bucks. You can also snag her battleaxe and glider while you're there.

Morty – Rick's trusty sidekick

Hammer Morty may have already appeared in-game as Rick's Pickaxe, but now the boy himself has arrived on the Fortnite island.

We don't know how we feel about fighting an actual child; he is canonically 14 even if some of his adventures can make us forget how young he is. However, you could put this to your advantage if you choose to play as the new Morty skin as you may find people are more reluctant to eliminate you.

Mecha Morty is available in the item shop now (for 1,500 V-bucks), alongside the Space Snake pickaxe, Look at me! weapon wrap and the Get Schwifty emote. All of these can be purchased together in a bundle for 2,200 V-Bucks.

Superman – Season 7 Battle Pass

After his identity hiding glasses were teased by the official Fortnite Twitter account, Superman is confirmed to making an appearance as a Fortnite skin in Season 7. The Man of Steel is available through the Battle Pass which you can buy right now.

Though you'll have to complete special challenges before you can unlock Superman himself, as he is the secret skin. The good news is that you won't have to complete the rest of the Battle pass first.

As always you can either buy the Battle Pass on its own for 950 V-Bucks or you could get Fortnite Crew. It costs $11.99 (£9.99 / AU$15.99) but includes additional cosmetics and 1,000 V-Bucks while also giving you the Battle Pass too.

Summer Skye – Fortnite Crew August 2021

August's Fortnite Crew pack celebrates an old favorite Fortnite Skin, Skye. The skin shows off her beach-inspired Summer variant, complete with shorts and no beanie hat. An alternate look for the skin has an almost Halloween-like design that uses oranges and blacks.

Alongside the Summer Skye skin, you'll also get a sword and shield backbling, her sword as a pickaxe, and a couple of weapon wraps inspired by Meowcles. Fortnite Crew costs $11.99 (£9.99 / AU$15.99) per month and will net you 1,000 V-Bucks as well as the Battle Pass if you don't currently own it.

First Shadows – Fortnite Crew September to November

Epic Games has officially teased its next three Fortnite Crew skins called the First Shadows. Looking at the picture above the skins will be added from left to right; September will bring The Burning Wolf, Chaos Origins arrives in October and finally, Sierra will drop in November.

Lore wise these skins seem to tie into the Shadow vs Ghost story from Fortnite Chapter 2, being the first three Shadows that Midas recruited.

If you subscribe for all three months you'll also get a bonus style for each outfit. Fortnite Crew costs $11.99 (£9.99 / AU$15.99) per month and alongside the exclusive skin it will net you 1,000 V-Bucks as well as the Battle Pass if you don't currently own it.

Rumored Fortnite skins

Shang-Chi – Master of martial arts

According to @ShiinaBR on Twitter (a leaker with a good track record for Fortnite leaks) Shang-Chi, the star of the upcoming MCU film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will be honored with his own Fortnite skin.

The outfit will supposedly arrive on September 2, the day before the film comes out. Given that Marvel and Epic Games have collaborated frequently with Fortnite this certainly makes a lot of sense, we'll just have to wait and see if the rumors are true or not.

Peacemaker – Star of The Suicide Squad

Twitter user, and leaker @ShiinaBR has suggested that Peacemaker could follow on from Bloodsport as yet another The Suicide Squad tie-in. The same person who leaked Bloodsport suggested John Cena's character could appear too, meaning we might see the character show up soon.

We don't have anything more concrete, like in-game files, so take this with a pinch of salt but we could see Peacemaker arrive in January 2022 when his new show is expected to be released on HBO Max

Samus Aran – Nintendo's bounty hunter

In Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 many fans were calling for Nintendo to be represented by an in-game skin after both Xbox and PlayStation got their mascots in the Battle Royale. The obvious choice was bounty hunter Samus from the Metroid series – but she never showed up.

Leaked documents shared on Twitter from the Epic Games vs Apple court battle indicate that Samus is/was planned to appear in the game (alongside multiple other characters like Naruto and Ariana Grande). The above panel from issue three of the Batman Zero Point series adds to the speculation that the character could still be coming after fans spotted a silhouette that looks a lot like Samus.

Take this rumor with an unhealthy amount of salt, but it could mean that Samus might soon arrive as a Fortnite skin.

Leaked survey skins

Here's a leak to take with an extra pinch of salt: multiple Fortnite leakers on Twitter have shared images from a recent Epic survey showing off several new skin designs. In it the company detailed potential Fortnite skins and included images of ones we might eventually see added to the game.

You can see all of the in the tweet above but some of our favorites are Cartoon Bushranger, a Vampire Drift, and Guff dressed as a Christmas tree. We have no clue if any of these skins will ever be added to the game, but be on the lookout in future seasons.

The Foundation – Leader of the Seven

The Foundation, a character that appeared in the epic Fortnite Season 5 event, is rumored to be becoming a Fortnite skin at some point in the future. It's likely we won't see him until Season 8 – as he was last seen falling into the ocean – but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Leaker Hypex found files related to the skin in-game so he could be on the way sooner than that, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
